October 2007

  • 10 — English Program: Anita Bingaman, “Bridges of Italy.”
Long time Dante member and former president, Anita Bingaman, will present many beautiful photographs she has taken of bridges throughout Northern Italy. Her collection includes photographs of bridges from the Medieval Ages to Modern times in cities from “A” (Abenga) to “Z” (Zuccarello). Photographing these bridges gave her another way to see the variety that is Italy.
  • 24 — Italian Program: Patrizia Lucinetti, “First Tango at Dante.”
Patrizia Lucinetti will be speaking to us in Italian about Argentina. Since no discussion of Argentina would be complete without the Tango and it is impossible to simply discuss such a passionate dance, Tina Ferrari and her Argentine-born partner, Alejandro Gee, will be demonstrating the Argentine Tango, followed by an explanation in Italian.

November 2007

  • 14 — English Program: Joseph W. Meeker, “Dante and the Modern Mind”
Dante's poem, “Divine Comedy”, describes an epic journey through the three realms of the Christian afterlife and a model for personal growth. Meeker plans to explain how Dante's ideas relate to our own understanding of addiction.

December 2007

  • 1 December 1st, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 — Festa di Natale per i Bambini
